Three ways we can help you.

Your Johnny is all about personal advice, quality materials, unique finds, and connecting with true craftspeople.

Depending on your request, Your Johnny acts as the seller, a search and advice consultant, or an intermediary connecting you to an external specialist. We therefore clarify the specific role involved in your assignment upfront.

I want to buy something

Clarity upfront

Who are you buying from? What are you paying for?

If you buy from Your Johnny, then Your Johnny is your seller.

If you hire Johnny to search, you pay for time and expertise.

If Johnny connects you directly with an external specialist, you enter into the final agreement with that specialist.

Before an assignment begins, we confirm who is supplying which component. Your Johnny remains responsible for its own work.

Purchasing a product from Your Johnny

If you buy directly from Your Johnny, Your Johnny is the seller. This may involve vintage clothing, leather goods, shoes and boots, coats, trousers, accessories, or other selected second-hand and new products from our own inventory.

Applicable statutory consumer rights remain in effect, including for vintage items. We discuss the condition, price, delivery, and any specific details before you agree to the purchase. If we already have the item in stock, you do not pay separate sourcing fees.

Paid sourcing and advisory service

You pay for sourcing time, knowledge, experience, comparison, assessment, and communication with sellers or makers. Johnny leverages its network and provides advice on material, quality, size, price, and suitability.

You pay for time, knowledge, sourcing efforts, and advice—not for a guarantee that a specific product can be found. Payment for time spent is due in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable consumer regulations, even if you do not make a purchase or if no suitable option is found.

Personal Sourcing & Advice

Looking for a distinctive vintage leather jacket, trousers, boots or something more specific?

Your Johnny provides personal sourcing assistance through an international network of traders, collectors and specialist makers.

We discuss your wishes, budget and the work involved beforehand.

Beforehand, you receive an estimate of the research, product assessment, personal guidance and associated costs. Paid work starts only once you agree to the work and costs.

The rate applies to the time spent searching and the advice provided. There is no guarantee that a specific item will be found.

We can work by the hour or within an agreed time block. Before you give your approval, we record the maximum hours or sourcing budget.

The purchase price of vintage items, shipping and any additional costs are not included in the hourly rate.

Custom Made manufacturing prices and Steeltoys product and custom-work prices are agreed separately. The hourly rate applies only to Your Johnny’s personal sourcing and advice; it applies to partners’ work only if expressly agreed.

Product budget
The budget for the item itself. This determines what can be found within your search request.
Search budget

Second-hand, vintage, and availability

A second-hand piece has a history.

Signs of use, leather patina, repairs, or discoloration may be part of an older item. We discuss the known condition and any uncertainties. Label sizes vary by brand, country, and era, and may differ from modern sizes; actual measurements are more useful than just a size label.

For external listings, we assess photos, descriptions, stated measurements, and seller information as thoroughly as possible. Johnny has not always physically handled the item. We will flag any doubts regarding material, size, or quality beforehand whenever possible. For items sold directly by us, Your Johnny remains responsible for meeting reasonable expectations regarding the product offered.

"Found" does not mean "reserved."

A second-hand item can sell quickly, be removed, or be reserved for someone else. Prices are also subject to change. We will only know if it is still available—and under what terms—once the seller confirms.

External partners and makers

Your Johnny brings people together: craftspeople who master their trade. Johnny can advise, introduce and help you get your question clear.

When you do business directly with an external partner, the agreements about that commission are between you and that partner. In that case, the partner is responsible for their own quotation, price, payment, measurements, choice of materials, production, and execution. Delivery times, shipping, warranties, repairs, complaints, and refunds are also part of that separate agreement.

Your Johnny may assist with communication where reasonably possible but does not thereby assume the external partner’s obligations. Your Johnny remains responsible for its own work and advice.

Are you purchasing the product directly from Your Johnny, even if another maker produces it? In that case, Your Johnny remains your seller. We will specify which situation applies in advance.

Custom Made: the details first

Custom Made means personalized custom work in genuine leather: a piece tailored to your wishes, measurements, style, and intended use, crafted by a maker. Think of a collar, harness, garment, or another wearable or distinctive piece.

Your commission doesn’t have to start with an existing example. A personal idea, a specific fit, or a desired design is enough to start the conversation; an existing piece is one possible starting point, not a requirement.

Johnny discusses your wishes, collaborates with you on material, construction, and finish, and connects you with a maker suited to your request. Johnny does not make the piece itself.

Your wishes are the starting point

An assignment begins with your wishes. What do you want to wear, what will you use it for, what are your measurements, and what look do you want to achieve? An existing garment can serve as inspiration or a practical starting point, but it is not required: you can also begin with just an idea, a sketch, or a measurement.

An example is a reference for your wishes, not an instruction to copy. We do not make exact copies of protected designs or brands. We can make a piece suited to your function, fit and finish. We discuss permitted changes and the boundaries of a protected design with the maker beforehand.

You decide for each assignment whether your existing piece is to be preserved, partially replicated, or used solely for reference. Nothing is set in stone until you have discussed it with us and the maker.

What do we agree on beforehand?

We discuss dimensions, material, color, hardware, finish, design, budget, and expected delivery time in advance. Feasibility, execution, price, and delivery time vary by assignment and are determined on a case-by-case basis; there is no fixed price or fixed turnaround time. The maker confirms what is technically and practically feasible. If you commission an external maker directly, their terms and conditions apply in addition to your statutory rights.

For products manufactured specifically to personal specifications, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply in certain circumstances. Merely selecting from standard sizes or options does not automatically exclude the item from this right. Statutory rights regarding defects remain applicable. We will discuss any applicable exceptions before you place your order.

Kink-friendly. Non-judgmental.

Leather, fetishwear, BDSM clothing, collars, harnesses, boots, and personal items can be part of your style, identity, sexuality, or a special memory.

You do not need to explain to us why you find something beautiful, exciting, or important. We look at what you’re looking for, what is well-made, and what suits you.

No body-shaming, disparaging remarks, or judgment regarding your clothing size or sexual orientation. We do not ask unnecessary questions about your private life. For explicit fetish or BDSM commissions, services are provided exclusively to adults aged 18 and older.

We do not use customer photos, names, or stories for marketing, social media, portfolios, or examples without prior consent. Partners receive only the relevant information necessary for the assignment.

Frequently asked questions

What does personal sourcing and advice cost?

The fixed hourly rate including VAT is shown under Personal Sourcing & Advice. We agree the maximum time budget beforehand. Product purchases, shipping, Custom Made and Steeltoys are priced separately; asking a question is not a paid commission.

Do I still pay if Johnny doesn’t find anything?

Yes, for search and advisory work performed in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable consumer regulations. You are paying for time and expertise; a specific find is not guaranteed. Also read about the cooling-off period for the search service.

Where does Your Johnny search?

Johnny researches suitable offers for your request and assesses material, condition, size and price. You receive a focused selection and an explanation; specific sources and trade contacts remain part of the personal research.

Why should I hire Johnny to search?

Because the difficult part is not finding, but assessing. Johnny trades in vintage leather clothing himself, knows the difference between real leather and artificial leather, knows that label sizes differ per brand, country and period, and sees when a piece will still hold up. He searches in several channels at once and keeps track of the options. You pay for that knowledge, that selection and that search work, not for a supplier’s address. If it is simple to find for your question, he says so too. Read why you pay for Johnny.

Am I required to buy an item that is found?

No. You decide whether to make a purchase. However, payment for search work already performed is due in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable consumer regulations. Simply making an inquiry does not constitute a paid assignment.

What if a second-hand item is suddenly sold?

That can happen. Unique second-hand pieces can disappear or be reserved quickly. Finding an item doesn’t mean it’s reserved yet. We will discuss the best next steps within the agreed timeframe.

What does Custom Made entail?

A personalized genuine leather piece, crafted according to your wishes, measurements, style, and intended use. Your commission doesn’t have to start with an existing example; an idea, a desired fit, or a specific style is enough. Johnny discusses your requirements and connects you with a maker; the maker determines feasibility, price, and delivery time. We do not create exact replicas of existing designs. What happens if Johnny refers me to a maker?

If you enter into an agreement directly with the maker, the terms of that commission are between you and the maker. If you buy from Your Johnny, then Your Johnny is your seller. We make this clear upfront.

What if something goes wrong with an external partner?

In the case of a direct agreement, you should report the complaint to that partner first. Johnny can provide reasonable assistance with contact or communication and remains accountable for its own work. View the complaints procedure.

Is Your Johnny kink-friendly?

Yes. Discretion, respect, and a non-judgmental attitude are part of our service. Explicit fetish and BDSM commissions are strictly for adults aged 18 and older.

Do you use photos of customers?

Only with prior, specific permission for the intended use. This also applies to names, stories, and photographs of a custom-made product. Sending a photograph does not constitute permission for publication. Read about privacy and discretion.

Is something unclear or did something go wrong?

For a product or service from Your Johnny, please contact Johnny. If you have a direct agreement with an external party, discuss the complaint with that party first. Johnny can assist with making contact where reasonably possible.
