Your Johnny / The story behind it

Why choose
Your Johnny?

Because for us, leather is more than just a material.

Why Work With Your Johnny?

You can find a supplier. But finding the right solution is another story.

Your Johnny is an independent sourcing and advisory service for real leather, specialist gear and custom-made pieces.

I help you find the right products, compare options, connect with skilled makers and avoid unnecessary purchases.

Sometimes direct contact with a specialist is the best solution. If your question is simple to solve yourself, I’ll say so honestly. Not every question requires a paid service; if I can’t offer meaningful value, I’ll tell you.

You pay for my expertise, time and personal service. Not simply for a name or an address.

Your Johnny. Independent advice. Real connections. No unnecessary middlemen.

You know what you like. Johnny knows where to look, what it’s made of, whether it’s well-constructed, and who can make it.

Johnny possesses extensive knowledge of leather goods, clothing, fit, quality, and the history behind them. He deals in vintage clothing and leather goods himself. At Your Johnny, that knowledge, the sourcing process, and connections with specialized makers all come together.

He knows the makers and specialists he collaborates with through the gay leather community, among other circles—a world where high-quality leather, sturdy hardware, and impeccable finishing have long been taken seriously.

Leather is also a personal story.

In that context, leather often holds a meaning beyond mere fashion. A jacket, harness, collar, or pair of boots can become part of someone’s identity, sexuality, and personal history. We bring that perspective to Your Johnny.

That LGBTQ+ background is part of our story. You don’t have to be part of that community yourself to shop here. Whether you’re curious, experienced, or still exploring: you are welcome.

01 / Use leaves its mark

Better one quality piece than ten disposable items.

There is plenty of cheap BDSM and fetish wear available. There is nothing wrong with that in itself; sometimes you just want to try something out or you’re on a limited budget.

But once you know what you like, a single well-made piece can come to mean so much more. A collar that fits perfectly, is solidly constructed, and lasts for years. Not just another choker in a drawer, but that one item that gathers memories over time.

Maybe it has scratches. Maybe the leather has darkened from wear. Maybe only you know why that one rivet had to be replaced.

That is exactly the kind of gear we love.

Real leather, tangible materials, and a finish that suits the way it’s used. Gear is meant to be worn. Maintained, repaired, and worn again. It doesn’t have to stay brand new to be valuable.

02 / Finding the right fit

For every budget.

At Your Johnny, it doesn’t automatically mean that everything has to be extremely expensive.

Not everyone can or wants to spend hundreds or thousands of euros on an outfit. That’s why we start with what you’re looking for, what you want to use it for, your preference for material and style, the fit and practical requirements — and approximately your budget.

As a result, leather garments, shoes, boots and special items keep coming by. We look at which route fits your question:

  • Having a genuine leather piece custom-made to your specifications, measurements, and intended use.
  • Sourcing a high-quality vintage leather garment.
  • Finding pre-owned boots, jackets, trousers, dresses, or skirts.
  • Combining vintage, new, and Custom Made items into a complete outfit.
  • Having an existing piece improved or modified, if that suits your needs.
  • Looking for an affordable solution first, before proposing Custom Made.

Sometimes, the solution isn’t to have something new made.

Sometimes your perfect leather jacket has already existed for twenty years, and we just need to find it.

03 / Upon request and in consultation

Not a standard webshop.

A personal conversation precedes a special order or a commission for a maker.

  1. Tell Johnny What You’re Looking For

A description, measurements, or even just a vague idea makes for a good starting point. Photos, inspiration, or an existing item can be included but aren’t required.

  2. Indicate your approximate budget.

This prevents unrealistic proposals and allows room to explore various solutions.

  3. Johnny looks at the possibilities.

Vintage, second-hand, existing stock, a specialist maker, or Custom Made—we seriously consider what already exists.

  4. Matching the right specialist to the project.

If a specialist is needed, we look for the best fit for the request. Not every project automatically goes to the same maker.

  5. You get honest advice

If something is unrealistic, unnecessarily expensive, or technically unsound, we’ll say so. The maker confirms feasibility, price, and timeline before you place an order.

Thorough searching takes time. So does a quality custom-made piece.

There may be a waiting period. If you need something quickly, let us know right away. Johnny can explore the options. Rush jobs or expedited searches may cost more; we’ll discuss this beforehand.

We would rather not sell you something mediocre today just because it happens to be in stock.

We prefer to find something that will still make you happy five years from now.

04 / The people behind the work

You don’t have the right specialist
yet.

That network is part of what Your Johnny offers: people who know their materials, create the work themselves, and aren’t afraid to offer their expert opinion. Johnny helps connect your idea with the right person.

Leather & fit

Specialist in leather, fashion and construction.

Leather / Fashion / Construction / Fit

This specialist has a lot of experience with fashion, leather and gay leather fetishwear. As a result, he knows not only the making itself, but also the requirements for fit, material, construction and finishing.

"What his eyes see, his hands make."

A commission starts with what you want: what you wear, what you use it for and what sizes you have. A photo or sketch helps, an existing garment can serve as a practical starting point, but neither is necessary. The specialist can also start with a blank page.

An existing design can serve as inspiration or a technical starting point, but it will be reworked and adapted as necessary. A reference image is not a request for an exact replica; we do not create one-to-one copies of protected designs or brands.

Good craftsmanship also means giving honest advice.

The specialist doesn’t just say yes to get a commission. An unsafe construction, unsuitable leather, hardware that is too weak or a fit that doesn’t work: that must be able to come to the table. The same applies to a design that wears out too quickly or unnecessarily restricts your movement.

That is why he considers fit and freedom of movement, the stress placed on the leather, material choices, hardware, and construction. Finish, durability, aesthetics, and comfort are just as important.

The goal is not to make something kinky just like that.

The goal is to create something well-designed, well-built, and comfortable to wear.

Steel & self-build

Specialist in metal, welding and construction.

Metal / Welding / Construction / Usage

This specialist is first and foremost a craftsman and experienced welder. What once started as a hobby grew into a profession. He designs and builds special BDSM appliances, furniture, constructions and accessories, largely himself in the Netherlands.

With this custom work, you are dealing directly with the person at the workbench: welding, building, modifying, and considering materials and usage. No anonymous mass production from a factory.

A technical idea may still be an open question.

An appliance, an adjustment, a steel construction to measure or an existing setup that needs to be different. Maybe you’ve seen something that needs to be adapted to your space or use. Maybe you only know which technical problem you want to solve. Johnny helps you figure out if this specialist is the right one for that.

Custom work is about more than just aesthetics. Construction, stability, material choice, welding and practical use must be right. The specialist assesses the concrete question before any commitments are made.

An in-house workshop and an extensive product range.

The specialist makes many own products and also sells a wider collection. The range also includes leather and steel cuffs, harnesses, clothing and accessories, in addition to furniture, frames and playroom furnishings. There are rental options for temporary use. Not every item in that range is own workmanship.

These links open Steeltoys, our specialised independent partner. Its current range and terms are provided there; availability and bespoke possibilities are confirmed for each request.

About own workmanship

Built in the Netherlands. By someone who has mastered the craft.

05 / To each their own craft

Who does what?

Not one person who claims to be able to do everything, but a network of specialists who genuinely master their own craft.

Johnny
Trader, leather goods specialist, sourcing consultant, and primary point of contact. He knows the right people, explores possibilities, and translates your idea into a realistic plan of action.
Leather specialist
Leather craftsmanship, fashion knowledge, patterns, fit and construction. Assesses the question and makes the agreed Custom Made leatherwork and fetishwear.
Steel specialist
Metalworking, welding, steel constructions and specialist BDSM furniture and appliances. Assesses technical questions and makes the agreed construction or adjustment.

Johnny doesn’t pretend he does everything himself. His job is to ensure that you end up with the right solution and, where necessary, with the right specialist.

06 / Personal and discreet

You don’t have to justify your tastes.

No judgment regarding your body, size, gender, sexuality, or kink. You don’t need a specific body type to wear leather or fetishwear. Fit is about what feels comfortable and works for you.

We simply discuss materials, clothing, and BDSM usage—without jokes at your expense or unnecessary personal questions. We handle your preferences, photos, and story discreetly. Only relevant information is shared with a specialist, and only with your permission.

Honest advice might also mean: don’t do this, get it repaired, or choose that cheaper solution. A good second-hand piece can be just as great a solution as a new custom-made one.
