Sometimes, something doesn’t need to be new to be perfect. Johnny works with vintage leather, second-hand finds, and unique pieces with character—think leather jackets, boots, trousers, skirts, and dresses that already carry a story.
Patina, a great cut, and material that feels good. We assess the condition, quality, and fit of every genuine find individually.

Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Johnny can also conduct a targeted search for you.
Tell us what you’re looking for and what size you need, share a reference photo if you have one, and indicate your approximate budget. We will then discuss what is realistic.
Paid search and advisory services
You pay for Johnny’s time and expertise: searching, comparing, evaluating, advising, and contacting sellers or makers. We agree on an hourly rate or a time budget in advance.
Payment for time spent searching and advising is due in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable consumer regulations, even if no suitable option is found or you ultimately do not make a purchase. A search request does not guarantee a result.

€49.00 per hour, including VAT.
Time block: we agree the maximum time budget beforehand. We discuss any extra time first.
Looking for a distinctive vintage leather jacket, trousers, boots or something more specific?
Your Johnny provides personal sourcing assistance through an international network of traders, collectors and specialist makers.
We discuss your wishes, budget and the work involved beforehand.
Beforehand, you receive an estimate of the research, product assessment, personal guidance and associated costs. Paid work starts only once you agree to the work and costs.
The rate applies to the time spent searching and the advice provided. There is no guarantee that a specific item will be found.
We can work by the hour or within an agreed time block. Before you give your approval, we record the maximum hours or sourcing budget.
The purchase price of vintage items, shipping and any additional costs are not included in the hourly rate.
Custom Made manufacturing prices and Steeltoys product and custom-work prices are agreed separately. The hourly rate applies only to Your Johnny’s personal sourcing and advice; it applies to partners’ work only if expressly agreed.

Where does Johnny search, and what do we look for in vintage items?
Where do we search?
Johnny researches suitable offers for your request and compares material, condition, size and price. You receive a focused selection and an explanation of the options. Specific sources and trade contacts remain part of the personal research.
A second-hand piece has a history.
Signs of use, leather patina, repairs, or discoloration may be part of an older item. We discuss the known condition and any uncertainties. Label sizes vary by brand, country, and era, and may differ from modern sizes; actual measurements are more useful than just a size label.
For external listings, we assess photos, descriptions, stated measurements, and seller information as thoroughly as possible. Johnny has not always physically handled the item. We will flag any doubts regarding material, size, or quality beforehand whenever possible. For items sold directly by us, Your Johnny remains responsible for meeting reasonable expectations regarding the product offered.
"Found" does not mean "reserved."
A second-hand item can sell quickly, be removed, or be reserved for someone else. Prices are also subject to change. We will only know if it is still available—and under what terms—once the seller confirms.
Do we already have it in stock?
Do we already have the item in stock? In that case, you naturally do not pay separate search fees.
Clarity regarding your budget
Search and advisory costs are separate from the purchase price, shipping, platform fees, and costs charged by an external maker or supplier. We will discuss the budget allocation for each component.
Agree first, then get to work. If more time is required than originally agreed upon, we will discuss this before proceeding with the search.

Custom Made
Your idea.
Well-considered.
Custom Made offers personalized, custom-made genuine leather goods: a piece crafted to your measurements, style, and intended use. Think of a collar, harness, or wearable leather garment, with a focus on fit, construction, material selection, finish, and aesthetic appeal.
Your commission doesn’t have to start with an example. A personal idea, a specific fit, or a desired style is enough to begin; an existing piece is just one possible starting point. We do not promise an exact replica of an existing design.
From collar to harness, from striking statement piece to a wearable garment designed for longevity. Johnny discusses your wishes and budget; Cliffton works under the Black Label label and assesses what is technically and practically feasible.

Steeltoys
From a technical requirement
to a feasible plan.
At Ludo (part of Steeltoys), steel, structural engineering, and custom fabrication come together. He produces much of his work in the Netherlands and collaborates on the design of unique apparatus, modifications, and technical solutions upon request.
Steelwork is about more than just aesthetics; structural integrity, stability, materials, and practicality must all be right. Johnny helps clarify your requirements, while Ludo assesses the possibilities.
Steeltoys also offers a wider product range: from leather and steel restraints to harnesses, clothing, accessories, and rental items.
